What are your goals for your dance career this summer?
If you don’t have any, it’s time to get organized. Here are three questions to help you focus and get closer to your dance dreams in the next month.
1. What do you want to accomplish?
Have you sat down and really thought about your dancing? Why not start with a small time period and specifically think about what you’d like to accomplish by the end of the summer?
Perhaps, you want to increase the number of turns you can do, leap higher or improve your technique. Write down your specific dance goals for the next two months.
2. What do you need to do to get there?
Once you have your summer goals written down, think about what it’s going to take to make them a reality. Figure out if you need to go to a new class and take from a different instructor, change your schedule to attend more classes or get additional help.
Once you write down your action steps, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what you need to do actually make your summer dance goals a reality.
3. Take action!
Now that you know what you need to do to move forward with your dancing, do it! It’s one thing to write things down, but it’s another to take action.
Avoid distraction and interruptions in your action plan. If you really want to make your dance dreams a reality, you need to work hard and focus on what you want to accomplish.
Don’t Let Summer Pass You By.
While summer is a great time to have fun, you can also move a lot closer to your dance dreams by September. Simply set goals, figure out what you need to do to achieve your goals and then take the actions necessary to make those goals a reality!
Know that this does entail a lot of work, sacrifice and determination. But if you want to pursue a dance career, it’s a necessity.
Now, go out and have a great summer and make your dance dreams a reality.
